HelloCars Fair Wear & Tear Policy

While HelloCars makes every effort to ensure the vehicles which we offer are free from imperfections, as is inherent with used vehicles some minor wear and tear is to be expected. The HelloCars dimple diagram and condition report will omit wear and tear observations which do not exceed the following criteria

  1. Paintwork & Finish

    1. Scratches, Marks & Abrasions

      A scratch, mark or abrasion will be omitted from the vehicle condition report if it:

      • Does not exceed 80mm in length AND
      • Does not penetrate through to the base metal OR
      • Does not exceed 25mm in length AND
      • Does penetrate through to the base metal OR
      • Is not visible from a normal standing position, such as under the front bumper or side sills
    2. Dents

      A dent will be omitted from the vehicle condition report if it:

      • Does not exceed 20mm in diameter (approximately the size of a 10c coin)
    3. Stone Chips

      Individual stone chips will be omitted from the vehicle condition report if:

      • Individual stone chips up to 10mm in diameter
    4. Touch Ups

      A touch up is considered minor and will be omitted from the vehicle condition report if it:

      • Does not exceed 70mm in length
  2. Wheels

    1. Kerb Rash & Scuffs

      Kerb rash or scuffs on the wheel will be omitted from the vehicle condition report if it:

      • Does not exceed 55mm in length
      • Is located on the spare wheel
  3. Interior

    1. Stains & Blemishes

      Stains or blemishes will be omitted from the vehicle condition report if it:

      • Does not exceed 25mm in diameter
    2. Scuffs & Marks

      Scuffs or marks will be omitted from the vehicle condition report if it:

      • Does not exceed 20mm in diameter on interior surface
      • Does not exceed 30mm in diameter on a door sill
      • Appears inside a stowage compartment such as boot, glovebox or cupholder
  4. WINDSCREEN

    1. Windscreen Chips & Cracks

      Windscreen chips do not necessitate the replacement of the windscreen. Windscreen chips will be omitted from the vehicle condition report if:

      • It is smaller than 30mm in diameter or
      • It does not pose a risk to the structural integrity of the windscreen or
      • It has been repaired in a manner that it no longer poses a risk to the structural integrity of the windscreen
